I have suspicion that there is more to these arms on the bottom and side. I can't seem to get the carriage to travel unless I'm holding it a certain way and then it's hit and miss. Any advice would be appreciated. I have a suspicion that the arm that extends out of the bottom is directly tied to the mechanism but I still can't see how. Any ideas? Any information you can toss my way. It really says a lot about how we don't appreciate the most basic functions of our modern technology - and think of them as part and parcel of the operation - as though it was simply always like that. Thanks! I'm yet to master one on a noiseless with its pulley setup. But that is a challenge I have in my near future.

There's quite a few differences between Vogue and this. I've been trying to fish a new draw cord through the tunnel of mechanical bits inside the carriage of a Remington (noisy) 9. It's amazing how difficult a simple maintenance operation can be.

The typeface is interesting and your name for it is appropriate. There are some distinct differences between it and Royal Vogue and I like this variant.Dwayne F.https://www.blogger.com/profile/07032059161503386028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2120715572940256008.post-48714158508196133692013-03-24T11:15:49.732-07:002013-03-24T11:15:49.732-07:00Great work! I save all kinds of small to medium balls out of old bearings I remove from machinery at work just in case.

Good luck with the 3-d printing. I agree that it is a little Deco gem; my eyes popped out when I first found mine, early in my collecting days, in a brick-and-mortar real-life shop.

Let me know if you want photos of the spools. They are held on with nuts, like on Olivettis. I'm missing one nut.
